Birth Doula

Service Description

Based in Wynnefield, part of Philadelphia, PA, I offer services to anyone in Philadelphia, Montgomery or Delaware County, and will travel to New Jersey or Delaware as needed. Whether you are planning a medicated or unmedicated birth, at home, a birth center, or in a hospital, it has been shown that expectant mothers have better outcomes when having a doula as part of their birth team. The doula does not replace the partner! I am here to support your entire family and, most importantly, to truly listen and honor your requests for your birth. My doula service includes: Two prenatal appointments--these can be either in person or virtual! During these appointments, I will take time to get to know you and your family, as well as • Your desires for your birth, as well as processing fears that may arise • Education on the physiological birth process • What to expect when giving birth at home or in a hospital • Common interventions and how to talk to your care provider about them • Physical/emotional support desires for pregnancy and labor • Assistance in writing a birth plan • Assistance in organizing postpartum support I will then be available 24 hours by text, phone or email from 37 to 42 weeks. During the birth process, I will provide on call support in early labor, and when present I will provide physical support, hands on or off as discussed prenatally, and use of any other comfort measures as requested such as oils, music, and lighting. Depending on where you will be giving birth, I will help with set up, clean up, and anything else that needs to be done! I will stay present with the Mother for 2 hours (or as needed) until after the birth. This service includes one postpartum visit.
